What You Need to Know

Children of all ages are welcome!

  • Children 0 – 5 years stay on a complimentary basis when sharing with 2 full paying adults.
  • Children 6 – 11 years stay at 50% of the per person sharing rate when sharing with 2 full paying adults. Please request a quote.
  • Children 12 years and older pay the full adult rate and need to occupy their own room.
  • A maximum of 2 children (0 – 11 years) may share a room with 2 adults.
  • Children under 12 years are not able to join the game drives.
  • A shorter Bumble-bee drive is available after the morning game drive for kids under 12.
  • A private vehicle can be booked if traveling with children under 12 for longer private drives.
Luxury accommodation; all meals daily; all teas & coffees; soft drinks; as well as a selection of beers, wines, and spirits.

  • Two game drives each day which includes a pre-selection of beverages and snacks.
  • Wi-Fi connection is provided.
  • 15 % VAT is charged.

Provisional reservations for arrivals more than 30 days in advance are retained for a period of seven days. Provisional bookings for arrivals 30 days or less in advance are released after 72 hours if they have not been confirmed. MBAZO Private Lodge reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to extend or reduce the provisional booking period.

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required within 7 days after receiving written confirmation for reservations for arrivals more than 60 days in advance. The remaining payment is due 60 days before the scheduled arrival date.

For reservations for arrivals within 60 days or less of the date of booking full payment of the total invoiced amount must be made within 5 days after written confirmation, but at least 24 hours prior to arrival. Unless otherwise specified, all payments must be paid in South African Rands and using an electronic money transfer.

Payment shall be made in whole, without deduction or set-off, with bank charges to be borne by the sender on his or her account.

MBAZO Private Lodge retains the right to cancel any reservation based on non-payment of either the deposit or the balance of payment or any part thereof, with or without warning, if either the deposit or the balance of payment or any part thereof is not received. Such a cancellation may result in the imposition of cancellation fees, which are detailed below. After MBAZO Private Lodge has issued confirmation of a reservation, the prospective visitor or a representative cancels the reservation in writing, the following cancellation costs will be charged:

If you cancel your trip within 60 days or more before your scheduled arrival at Mbazo, you will forfeit the 20 percent deposit.

Cancellations made with less than 60 days before your scheduled arrival at Mbazo will result in the forfeiture of the entire amount.

It is not possible to receive a reimbursement and/or refund for missed services, except in the case of documented exceptional circumstances. Verifiable claims will only be considered if they are submitted in writing within thirty (30) days of the service being missed, and MBAZO Private Lodge reserves the right to determine in its sole discretion whether to issue a refund. Cancellations due to uninsurable incidents and/or compassionate circumstances will be taken into consideration.

The Traveler is requested to ensure that adequate and comprehensive travel insurance is in place from the time of confirmation of a booking at MBAZO Private Lodge and that the details of such insurance are available to you during your stay at MBAZO Private Lodge. We encourage you, for the sake of effectiveness to ensure that your chosen travel insurance must protect you, the visitor, against all risks, including but not limited to the costs of cancellation and curtailment, damage, delay and evacuation; medical treatment and hospitalization; illness; inconvenience; injury; loss; repatriation and theft; and other costs. MBAZO Private Lodge will not be held liable for any of the occurrences including the ones described above under any circumstances.

The activities associated with safaris, such as visits to a safari region and/or a safari camp, places visitors in close contact to wild animals which may expose visitors to the dangers of being in such an environment. MBAZO Private Lodge takes every precaution to ensure that an incident does not occur; however, MBAZO Private Lodge accepts no responsibility for any loss, injury, illness, death, delays, cancellations, or changes to an itinerary. MBAZO Private Lodge reserves the right to alter, amend, or cancel any part of a safari at MBAZO Private Lodge if there is a valid reason for doing so.

The MBAZO Private Lodge will not be liable for any force majeure events that occur outside of its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, insurrection, flood, fire, or other accident, war (or threat of war), revolution, riot, sabotage, radiation or chemical contamination, officially declared state of emergency, sanctions, embargoes, plague or civil unrest, and/or any event which may result in the cancellation or restriction of travel. MBAZO Private Lodge shall not be regarded to be in breach of its obligations, nor shall it be held accountable for its failure to perform, to the extent that any such delay or failure to perform is caused by an event of force majeure. Where a reservation is affected by force majeure, MBAZO Private Lodge shall have the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel or alter the reservation and shall take reasonable efforts to refund the travelers, after deducting the actual and possible costs incurred by MBAZO Private Lodge.

To determine the most up-to-date visa requirements and travel, health and safety recommendations in their respective countries, visitors are advised to consult their Foreign Offices, Consular department and travel agent. Visitors to South Africa must ensure that they meet all applicable visa, child-travel document, and health requirements. A guest who fails to take the appropriate medical or legal measures, obtain the necessary visa or permit, or who is denied entry into South Africa for any reason, will not hold MBAZO Private Lodge responsible in any manner and irrevocably agrees to indemnify MBAZO Private Lodge, its owners, managers and staff.
